Drinking energy drinks is easy to increase the burden on the heart

With the rise of energy drinks around the world, more and more people like to drink energy drinks, but energy drinks drink more easily have a negative impact on health. It is said that there are several cases in foreign countries that have died from drinking energy drinks rich in caffeine and taurine. Jonas D. Rner, of the University of Bonn School of Medicine in Germany, reported at a meeting of the North American Radiation Society in Chicago, USA that a drink would have a huge burden on the heart after drinking energy drinks.

Due to the increase in the number of first responders who drink energy drinks, most of them are young people.

According to statistics, in the United States, the number of people who were rescued by ambulances for drinking energy drinks was about 10,000 in 2007. In 2011, it was increased to about 21,000, which is twice the number, most of which is 18- 25-year-old young man.

D.rner said: “The general energy drink contains a lot of caffeine and taurine. The amount of caffeine can even reach more than three times the caffeine content of coffee and black tea. But the production specification does not have caffeine and taco. The acid content is limited.”

According to his research, 18 healthy young people (15 males, 3 females, average age 27.5 years) were given the opportunity to drink 32 mg of caffeine per 100 ml and 400 mg of taurine. Take a drink and compare them to the magnetic resonance imaging of the heart before and after drinking.

The results showed that after drinking the energy drink for one hour, the maximum contraction ratio of the left ventricle that sent the blood to the whole body was significantly increased, that is, the burden of the heart was significantly increased in a short period of time when the energy drink was consumed. However, the number of heartbeats and blood pressure did not show significant changes.

D·rner believes that the impact of energy drinks on the heart is very important, and there is a need for further exploration. In addition, in the case of drinking energy drinks and drinking alcohol, it is necessary to investigate the risk of inducing heart disease.
