According to the US “News and Global News Network”, researchers in California found that almonds help to reduce belly fat and protect the heart.
The researchers conducted a group-controlled trial of a cholesterol-lowering diet for 52 healthy adults who were overweight and had low levels of LDL. One group of participants used almonds as a snack, while the other group used banana muffins as a snack; the two snacks had essentially the same calories. After 6 weeks of intent, the two groups of participants exchanged dietary plans. The final results showed that the almond-containing diet reduced the levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, non-high-density lipoprotein, and remnant lipoprotein cholesterol in the blood of the participants, while the diet plan containing banana muffins only made high-density fat. Protein levels have decreased.
The study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, shows that eating almonds helps regulate cholesterol levels and protects heart health. Choosing almonds as a snack is an easy way to prevent metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
